Years ago a dear family in my church left.
I had done a lot for them over the years, they were very involved with the church, generous with their time and money.
But when they left, I made a big mistake: I took it personally. I was angry, lost sleep, questioned my ability as a pastor.
What I should have done was let it go, give it to God, and understand that they had their own journey with Jesus, who was clearly calling them elsewhere.
This Sunday's gospel tells us I needed to forgive them for any perceived offense, although there was probably none, and bless them on their journey - celebrating their contributions and wishing them well
When somebody hurts you, one of the worst things you can be do is to hold it against them!
Who do you need to forgive?
What is God telling you to let go of?
