A friend at church once gave my 4-year-old a $5 bill and said, "Go get you, your brother, and sister some candy!"
When we got to the store and everyone had picked out their candy and the clerk asked for the money, the 4-year-old refused to part with it!
"This is my money!" He said, "And I don't want to share it!"
When Jesus began his ministry, as we will see on Sunday, he was immediately confronted by religious people who acted the same way! Indeed, this reticence to understand Jesus and his reformational work with Israel was what would get him killed.
What's this mean to us?
You and I have been generously bequeathed with health, intelligence, ambition, opportunity - and turned it into much more than $5!
Don't be like a 4-year-old!
Share the gift!
What are the gifts you have been given that God is asking you to share?
It's our work, our purpose, and ultimately, our contentment.
